The energy-absorbing seat cushion made of IMPACTFOAM is another product that increases safety in the cockpit of a glider. In addition to the safety aspect, it is also very comfortable during long flights.
Safety
IMPACTFOAM consists of 50% plant-based materials and has a low toxicity.
Density / Weight
IMPACTFOAM has a density of 80kg/m³. A 50 mm thick cushion weighs approx. 820g.
Comfort
IMPACTFOAM is "memory foam" with slow recovery.
It adapts perfectly to the contours of the body and reduces sitting fatigue by distributing pressure evenly.
The open cell structure promotes ventilation and reduces heat build-up.
Processing
Despite its energy-absorbing properties, IMPACTFOAM foam is easy to work with.
It can be cut with a knife and glued with adhesive.
Size
IMPACTFOAM with a thickness of 50mm is available in the size 410mm x 460mm.
Note:
The cushion compresses only slightly when sitting on it. You should therefore make sure that there is at least 5cm of space above your head to the bonnet without the cushion!
